The Winnebago Chieftain is debatably “The American Classic Motorhome”.  The late 1980’s models would act as a blueprint for many other RV manufactures to model after, as the market for a more truly Recreational Vehicle vs the large Motor Coaches that were not so easily navigated in and out of many campgrounds.

In more recent times, the Winnebago Chieftain and Brave, made a Nostalgic Return in the form of the Winnebago Tribute, which to the unsuspecting appears to be a 1980′;s Winnebago Motorhome, but when you lift the hood and kick the tires, you quickly realize you are in a modern motorhome, complete with slideouts, and all the other modern amenities that we can enjoy in today’s modern Motorhome Marketplace.

In fact, we currently have an 2015 Winnebago Tribute, that is for sale, at a 2015 price, albeit competitively priced to sell.  We have provided a Video of the exterior of this Chieftain, as well as some photos.  Interior video and photos will be available in the next few days.

I’ve been instructed that it is in very nice condition, with relatively low miles, and that is very much road ready, and because it is an American Classic, that is still “looking good”, and “running good”, will get a pass from most all of the RV parks that advertise a 10 year old RV rule, and that also make a case by case judgement calls on RVs that are older than that.

I bring this note up, with many, in fact most not understanding that is how most RV parks are applying this type of rule.  I own an early 1990’s class B motorhome, that I have given a facelift to, having prep sanded and prepped the exterior, and repainted it , complete with clear coat, so that it cosmetically appears to be a much newer RV, and that now contains more modern amenities than even the newest RV’s possess.

When I am planning a trip, I simply map out my travel plans, and call ahead to make my RV park reservations.  In doing so, most will ask if I can furnish them with a few photos inside and out, for their review, and todate every single one of them have accepted and confirmed my reservations.

I share this practice with all  of our clients that own or are considering the purchase of an RV more than 10 years old.
