1988 Ultrastar Champion Motorhome American Classic
$8,500 Or Best Offer
In 17 years this is the first 88 Ultrastar Champion Class A motorhome, that we’ve had the privilege of selling. We have had owners bring them in for service and repair over the years, and all of them were very pleased with their RV, none of them,. until now were interested in selling theirs.
This one is still in very nice shape and has plenty of miles of adventure left ahead of it. This is an excellent RV rehab project for that person looking for one that will not require any massive rebuilding efforts or investments, in restoring its beauty and mechanical dependability.
The drive train appears to be solid, starting up without any issues and running nice and smooth once started. It does sound like it might benefit from a new muffler at some point, not that it runs loudly, it does not, but I believe that it could run quieter. The transmission is solid and responsive, shifting in and out of gears smoothing with no slippage noted. It’s obvious that it was well cared for over the years, with regular service and repairs provided as needed.
Internally you’ll find a wood floor has replaced the carpeting, the cabinetry and upholstery also appear to be in good repair, with no tears in the fabric, no buckling in the wood floor, although there are some signs of wear, primarily around the dining booth area, which is to be expected. You’ll find all the amenities you’d expect, it’s been upgraded to digital television, has overhead air conditioning, propane heating, 3 way fridge, 12v, 110v, and Propane Gas, 4000 Watt Generator for independent 110v service, and a single panel Solar system that helps to keep the house and engine batteries charged.
In the bathroom you will find a wash basin, toilet and shower stall. There is a queen size bed found at the rear of the motorhome, and the dinning booth breaks down for an addition sleeping area for guest. There are no slide outs, but the floor plan accommodates plenty of space to move about and to stretch out and relax when the day is done.
There are fresh, gray and black water tanks, complete with drain and fresh water hoses included. 30 amp power connection cable is also present and ready to hookup when you are. There is a power leveling system included, although the owner admits that he could never figure out how to use it. Our techs will check this out, as well as any other issues that we may encounter as we run it through out PDI (pre-delivery inspection), that we perform on every RV we sell, no matter what the sellers have indicated in their condition reports to us.
This assures our buyers that they will be made aware of any known issues at the point of purchase. In some instances the seller will be asked to pay for any needed repairs, unless they have requested that we sell their RV “AS IS”, when they have reduced their selling price to allow for the buyer to afford whatever repairs may be required, which is the case with this RV.
